Keinon Rolal

Ordo Hospetaler

26 years old

A short, emaciated man in his mid-twenties, and very modestly dressed to boot, Keinon does not really arrest the attention. Not particularly pleasing to the eye to begin with, the Ritual of Conduit fitted him with a set of ever-pulsing cables that stand out clearly under the layer of his skin, giving him an air of mild repulsion. The fact that his nose is nothing but a knot of scar tissue, obviously never stitched back up, gives his face a strange look. He does not seem to mind, though, and retains a mild-mannered and positive attitude.

It is known that Keinon was born to Amerachoan aristocracy though his name is clearly not of Amerachoan origin. This is the extent he is willing to talk about his past before Arx Machinus. If asked, he simply says that it is the past, and that the only thing that matters is what he is now: a Hospetaler, a techmancer.

Keinon arrived at Arx Machinus at a very early age. He was a scrawny child with an unstable temper who would ordinarily act mild but could suddenly burst into an angry monologue. He had a passion for learning and for the forbidden subjects, especially fleshcraft, which he studied intensely. He was also keenly interested in the Gloom, and often talked about being a doctor aboard a gloomvessel. For the first few years at Arx Machinus Keinon could only be spotted at a library, reading and making notes. He was so focused on studying he had scarcely made friends outside a select few, namely his classmates Gustav, Valefarion and Xiu. Eventually he could let go of his studies for a night and meet other students socially too.

His clothes were simple if of quality make even back then, but as he finished his Ritual, the style changed dramatically to even simpler. His mood, along with his appearance, had changed as well: he radiates a certain inner calm, no longer prone to bursts of anger. He would sometimes talk about the things he experienced during the Ritual, mainly of an overwhelming sense of peace and harmony washing over him. His mekanima, however, Keinon refuses to discuss. Through the Keyholders Keinon was able to fulfill his dream of working as a gloomship doctor - which did not turn out to be what he had hoped, and he soon returned, with a mysterious woman called Lumen and without his nose.
