Darrak is the scion of a dwarf clan that were left behind long ago when dwarves migrated from the Frostfell to Khorvaire. Having grown up outside of the influence of the Sovereign Host Darrak was brought up in a druidic tradition not dissimilar to the tradition of the Children of Winter; an extremely fatalistic tradition focused on the survival of the fittest.
Not content to lead a stable life on the endless tundras of the Frostfell Darrak decided to pursue the career of an adventurer; what better way to prove to himself that he was, indeed, fit to survive in this harsh world than to experience the harshest life there is? While Darrak has only travelled in Khorvaire for a couple of years he already possesses enough insights into the internal politics of the region to know that he'd rather not take sides and simply work for whoever offers him the best job.
