Randall on Majikin ikätoveri, ystävä nuoruudesta aina aikuisikään. Randall on paikallista cheliaxlaista-verta, harteikas ja tehokas kaveri. Olikin luonnollista että hän aikuisiällä hakeutui militantti alalle. Jopa paikka Sable Companyyn oli aukeamassa, mutta vaikka vahva kuin härkä niin Randall ajautui eräänä vapaa iltana huonoon seuraan. Vasta viikkoa myöhemmin Majik löysi Randalin laitakujalta syvistä shiver-huuruista. Potkuthan sieltä Sable Companystä tulivat ja kaveri jäi muutenkin kovin oudoksi, tyhjäksi ja levottomaksi. Majikin tuella hän on kuitenkin selvinnyt jokseenkin siitä inhimillisestä ja ammatillisesta mahalaskusta. Randalilla on kuitemnkin pakkomielle - tuommoset paskat aineet tulee poistaa kaduilta! Kun omissa tutkimuksissa selvisi, että muuan Gaedryn Lamm myy lähestulkoon kaiken shiverin lähistöllä, oli turhautuneelle nuorelle miehelle selvä kuka ensimmäisenä saisi tuta omatoimista oikeutta..

Isä Aaron työskentelee Abadarin kirkon kirjanpitäjänä. Äitinsä Maethilda työskentelee orpokodissa. Yhdessä rakkaat vanhemmat vuokraavat aavistuksen hulttiolle pojalleen pientä kaupunkiasuntoa.
