History:Bertram was born in the frontier town of Bellis in Andoran. Already as a youngster he felt a spiritual call for Abadar, god of cities, and ended up training as a paladin (due to possessing strength and being quite charismatic, but not having so much wisdom) in Almas, Andoran's capital. The training included a post in the city watch, and he got a reputation of trying to solve disputes by talking, if possible. As Abadar is also a god of merchants and wealth, the paladin order concerned itself also with the safety of trade routes, and Bertram got to travel a lot around Andoran and its neighborhood protecting caravans. He got an interest to see more of the world, and got the opportunity: the paladin order in Eleder was in need of members, and Bertram's disposition towards negotiation would serve the order well in its efforts to calm the tensions between Sargava's colonial and native populations. So he boarded a ship to Corentyn and from there onto the Jenivere, off to the distant land of Sargava. |
